2006-2010 SRT-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee (With Rear Center Duals)
Solo Performance is pleased to announce the release of its MACH-XJ3 Exhaust Kit for the 2006-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. We are extremely pleased with this drone free, raw, aggressive exhaust kit, which never becomes intrusive on the inside. With the use of our 3” Dual in Dual out MACH-XJ3 muffler and our J pipe technology, we were able to maintain an aggressive sound outside, while keeping it drone free on the inside.
Raw American muscle on the outside and a refined, non-invasive performance exhaust note on the inside. The dramatic sound difference from outside to inside is accomplished by months of research and development plus specific product design for the 2006-2010 SRT-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This Dual, 3” mandrel bent stainless steel Cat-Back exhaust kit sounds and performs as good as it looks. It’s capped off with dual, bevelled, T304 polished tig welded 4 ½” exhaust tips. Fit, Form and Function is what the Solo Performance MACH-XJ3 Jeep SRT-8 kit delivers.
Front Muffler Assembly
3″ mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust pipes combined with our dual in dual out T304 stainless steel MACH XJ3 muffler. We tried several exhaust configurations on this SRT-8 Jeep and when nothing worked well enough we designed our MACH XJ3 muffler specifically for this application. This muffler is all that we hoped it would be for this SUV!
Right and Left Tail Pipe Assembly
3” mandrel bent stainless steel tail pipes are one unit for easy installation.
Much research and development has been done by Solo Performance to perfect our J-Pipes that are part of the SRT-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee tail pipe assemblies. These J-Pipes eliminate bad or annoying sound frequencies that occur at certain RPM ranges. We have developed and used this technology on several of our exhaust kits over the past several years and they work incredibly well.
The adjustment on the J-Pipe is critical, we have found a “factory preset” position that works on most SRT-8 Jeeps. Just as a trombone has different notes with slight movements of the “slider” so do our adjustable J-Pipes. Less than 1/2″ of adjustment can mean the difference between an exhaust kit that annoys you to a kit that’s perfect.
We have gone to great lengths to pin point the exact “factory” J-Pipe setting. Some may need to adjust the length of the J if they have a “bog” or a bad RPM range. All you have to do is loosen the top band clamp on both sides and lengthen or shorten 1/2″. Once you find the preferred direction you adjust from there in 1/4″ increments. Adjust both sides evenly until the drone is gone.

I must admit, that is one bad ass looking system you guys have developed! Great work fellas!
Just got my solo system installed.
When I got the call from the shop, I asked the mechanic over the phone “So how does it sound?” His answer: “It is one of the most badass exhausts I have heard in the past 10 years”. After driving it, I can attest to what he was saying. Here is my review…
Install: Was told install was very easy. I checked, and the J-pipes are tucked neatly under the vehicle.
Driving: Getting on it, the Jeep sounds like a beast. Highway onramps are even more intoxicating now. It has a nice idle; sounds aggressive. It is a loud setup when accelerating, but cruising from 20-50mph is literally the same sound level inside as the stock exhaust. It is a little loud on the highway from 70-80mph, but there is no drone. This is more of an effect of the jeep only having a 5 speed transmission than poor exhaust design. The only performance exhaust that is likely quieter is the corsa, but the trade off is that the corsa does not sound as meaty as the Solo at any point. Another nice perk, I no longer hear most of the drivetrain whine, so the Solo just saved me a T-Case swap lol
Style: The tips look awesome. Solo has great tip offerings, the Cherokee is no different.
I would buy it again in a heart beat.
Well UPS around 6. I had the system installed in a little over an hour. It would have been very helpful to have another set of hands, four jack stands, and instructions. It was a very straight forward install but I wasnt sure if the J pipes stayed in their packed position or need to be moved. I left them as they were. When I fired the Jeep up I was very happy. It sounds great. No video sound clip will do it justice. I loaded my little helper (6 year old son) and went for a ride. Cruising is drone free! I tried to make is drone but couldn’t. When you get on it a bit it sounds mean! Full throttle is excellent. My son said it felt faster too. He said the front end moves like you’re taking off. But what does he know. I will try to load some pics in a bit. Overall great product and great service! More to come!
Last night I took my first highway trip with the wife and kids. Although you can hear the exhaust it is not at all annoying. I prefer to hear the nice rumble at highway speeds. No drone on the highway or around town either! The wife had no comments about the sound and actually took a short nap. If it passes her test it will pass just about any wife’s. It sounds great on down shifts too. I prefer to drive in autostick around town to hold gears a little longer. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend Solo to anyone on our board looking for a new sound.
Got it installed today, sounds amazing!
I took a stock video at idle and revving this morning. Will get a new video this afternoon if I can and try to post up tonight. The difference in sound is night and day for the better. I went back and forth between this and the Corsa for weeks and am so glad I went with this system.
The tips on the Solo system definitely are a full 4.5″ outside diameter. It might not sound like much compared to stock but it really does fill out the cut out in the rear bumper much better.
Got mine installed last week! And i would have to say install was a breeze literally took 30 min and that includes removing stock exhaust! The main reason being the guys over at Solo took the time to design and fit a system that sounds GREAT and installs flawlessly! Everything was aligned perfectly angles and pipe sizing allow for increased flow and power! Im the type of guy who will pay good money for quality parts and customer service and Solo Performance does that and at a competitive price!! So if anyone is on the edge i would highly recommend doing business with these guys. The sound has been discussed and is awesome and the video nails it i love my exhaust but i was very impressed with the service i received as well as the quality and attention to details would def do business again and will be highly recommended! Thanks!
FYI, just got the exhaust installed, Un-befrekin-leavable! Sounds great WOT, and dims away when cruising. Absolutely love it, great job Solo Performance! Many Thanks!!
