Jeep Grand Cheroke SRT-8 ( 2012 – Present )
All of us at Solo Performance are excited to bring our Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 WK2-Thunder-Res three inch, free flow, stainless steel exhaust kit to the Jeep community. This is a full 3” stainless steel, mandrel bent exhaust kit that fits the 4th generation Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8. This Cat-Back exhaust kit offers a deep, mean, 60’s muscle car sound without the drone usually associated with three inch free flow. On the outside of the Jeep the system sounds deep, rich, raw and mean like a 60’s muscle sound should be. On the inside, it is non-invasive and no drone. You really have to hear it from the outside to appreciate the full extent of the 60’s muscle car tone. This is a “Sound on Demand” exhaust system that produces the sound you want when accelerating or revving but becomes much quieter at cruise speeds. Solo has replaced that annoying cruise speed cabin drone with a comfortable, non-invasive exhaust note through advanced technology and a painstaking R&D process. Solo’s 2012 WK2-Thunder-Res exhaust kit comes with a front H-Pipe, four free flow Solo resonators, two of which are 55 degree angled resonators, and Solo’s rear tunable J-Pipes. These J-pipes are capped off on the end and as the sound waves enter the J-pipe, they bottom out on the end cap and bounce back. Upon the sound wave re-entering the exhaust flow, it collides with the specific Jeep SRT-8 drone frequency and cancels it out. The Solo tailpipe section has been built with ease of installation in mind. The pivotal, telescoping tailpipe assembly gives you an easy way to center stock exhaust tips ( stock exhaust tips and collar clamp are reused.) Experience 60`s muscle car sound on the outside and a non-invasive exhaust note on the inside with Solo Performance WK2-Thunder-Res 3” mandrel bent, stainless steel Jeep SRT-8 cat-back exhaust kit…tomorrow’s technology on today’s Jeep.

New Member here, I drive a 2014 Jeep SRT with an Injen CAI.I reached out to Solo the past week to see if they were going to make an exhaust for our jeeps. Lo and Behold they emailed me back and said they were. They shipped me an exhaust system and I just got it installed last night, 7-14-17. I had a shop do it because I didn’t have any time. They called me after they had it laid out and said everything looked great and that they would have it done in two hours. Two hours later they called me and I went to pick it up. Good God. They started it up for me and let me tell you it sounds like God was breathing. The installers could not believe how nice it was put together, how amazing it sounded and how easy it was. They went on and on about how they usually never see systems line up this well. Background on the shop i went to, been doing custom exhaust for 20 years. They do a lot of older vehicles. So when they heard this they instantly commented how it sounds like an old school muscle car and that it was probably the best exhaust they have ever heard.
Now my experience with it. This thing KICKS ASS. Everywhere I go I get heads turning wondering what car it is. I passed a WK2 last night and he sped up to catch me and could not believe how great it sounded. He asked to take a video of me taking off so he could post it. I drove around for hours just listening to the exhaust. Windows down, sun roof open and the roar of the throttle. Cold starts on this baby is music to your ears. Since I am in Alaska cold starts will be often.
Bottom Line: Solo made an amazing exhaust with this one. Throttle response is better. Power I believe is better. The downshifts are heavenly. You hear little pops in the exhaust when slowing down. Stomp the pedal and this puppy opens up like a banshee. Cruising on the highway is a breeze as there isn’t any drone at all. I was doing 80 talking on the bluetooth and could hear the person fine. There isn’t any tinny sound to it which is great as well. My dad complimented me on it saying my grandfather would be so proud to hear it.
Guys, buy this exhaust you won’t be disappointed. Trust me. You will never listen to music again in your car once you have this.
This Jeep kit and design…the sound is glorious.
Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I got My Thunderrez exhaust installed on my 2014 Jeep SRT and it sounds AWESOME!!! The shop can’t believe how awesome it sounds. They also complimented on how easy everything was to install and how it lined up! Thanks!
I had mine installed, and all I can say is wow!!! Once I put it in sport and use the paddles it sounds amazing. There’s no drone on the highway.
This exhaust is so bad-a## I don’t want to stop driving.
I installed my Solo exhaust today and I give it 2 thumbs up. All components appear to be well-made and the install was straight forward with no tweaks needed. The clearance on the driver side at the a-arm mount appears to be a bit tight, but there is no rubbing at all while driving. Around town the sound is mellow and refined with no drone that I could detect. At WOT the exhaust screams and sounds amazing. I spent the last hour just driving around town testing out various speeds and hills, etc and my 3 month old slept the entire time. I definitely would not hesitate to recommend this system to anyone.
